Jerome Laidley started playing at the age of 13.

In the past the outside linebacker has played for the Halton Cowboys of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) and St. Thomas Aquinas Flames of the Region of Peel Secondary School Athletic Association (ROPSSAA).

During the offseason, he focuses on his cardio and tries his best to go on at least one run a day. To involve football skills, he goes to an empty section of grass and sets up drills to do for himself.

For the upcoming Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC), he has set a few goals for himself.

“I would like to be scouted by coaches from the OPC, be able to gain experience from them and critique in a way that it would be able to better my game,” said Jerome. “My ultimate goal is to play football beyond the secondary school point.”

His role model is Patrick Willis who is his favourite all-time linebacker.

“He has true leadership skills and works hard to achieve his goals,” explained the Flames standout. “He’s always the one to step up ad motivate his team to work harder.”

Jerome’s love for the sport started at a young age, and he always loved playing around wit his friends and enjoyed the thrill of it.

“As I grew older I realized the team element that football involves is the best part, coming together and bring successful as a team is the best feeling,” commented the Flames standout.  “It makes me loves football more and more when as a leader I can bring my team together as on to accomplish our goals.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
