Nine years ago Jared Strachan started playing football, leading to a total of 11 football seasons.

Jared played in the Sault Minor Football Association (SMFA) for four seasons, and started playing defensive end in the third, which is what he still plays today.

He has also played in the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) with the Sault Sabercats for three seasons.

Moreover, Jared has also spent four seasons with his high school’s team, the St. Mary’s Knights.

β€œMy goals for the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) are to showcase my skills and prove that I am capable of playing at the next level and against some great athletes,” said Jared.

During the offseason, the Knight plays hockey to speed himself up and hit the weights hard.

He also reviews playbooks and as it gets closer to the season he does some light drills in his school’s gym.

Jared’s football role model is JJ Watt because he is the most respected and dominant player in the NFL.

β€œI love playing football because of the multiple different styles of play,” explained the Knight.

β€œEvery team and player is capable of different abilities and it is very exciting to me to see how these abilities are used on the field,” added Jared.
