Eleven-year-old Ethan Boxall has been playing the sport for four years with the Myers Riders in the National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA).

Starting in mite then moving through tyke to mosquito, Ethan says it has been a great team with a lot of great players and coaches.

During the offseason, the linebacker plays other sports such as basketball and baseball. He also participates in the camps around Ottawa and goes to the Myers Winter gym nights.

At this year’s upcoming Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC), there are two things Ethan would like to achieve.

β€œMy goals (for the Ontario Prospect Challenge) would be to improve and get recognized as one of the top players in Ontario,” said Ethan.

In football, his idol is Von Miller from the Denver Broncos as he likes the way he plays and he wears his number.

β€œI also have to say my dad is also my role model,” commented the Riders standout. β€œHe played football for many years and now is the head coach for the Myers Riders.”

β€œI look up to him and he is a great role model,” added Ethan.

He loves to play football because he gets to hit other players and have fun at the same time.

β€œI also like the strategy of trying to out think the other team and stop the offence from scoring,” continued the linebacker.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
