Jacob Kaminski has been playing football since he was five years old and in senior kindergarten.

During his time playing, his team has won two Southwestern Ontario Football Association of Leagues (SOFAL) championships and one Ontario Football Association (OFA) Provincial Bowl.

Jacob is currently a part of the Cambridge Lions in the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL), and has won several MVP awards for both offence and defence throughout his football career.

The seventh grade linebacker/wide receiver spends his offseason training six days a week.

Four of those days are dedicated to training at a gym, and the remaining is spent training with the KW Track and Field.

This year Jacob is also competing in the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC).

“I plan on learning new things, having fun and improving my skills of football,” said the Lion.

Jacob’s football role model is Rob Gronkowski, the tight end for the New England Patriots.

“He is always willing to help his team with whatever is needed at the time,” explained the Lion. “I also look up to him because of his training habits and his overall skill.”

Jacob loves all aspects of the game, including hitting, catching the ball, scoring touchdowns and tackling.

“I also enjoy playing on a team and winning together,” added Jacob. “I also like training for football and seeing the result on the field.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
