The multi-positional Joshua Pilon started playing the sport when he was nine.

For the past six years, Joshua has been with the Smiths Falls Minor Football Association (SFMFA) spring league with the Renegades.

Moreover, he also plays at the high school level with the Smiths Falls District Collegiate Institute (SFDCI) RedHawks.

He also spends every Sunday participating in Capital QBs.

During the offseason Joshua participates in scrimmages, does conditioning and works out with his friends. He also watches CFL and NFL games.

“My goals [for the Ontario Prospect Challenge] are to learn how to play different positions, improve my skills and become better conditioned, and to gain knowledge and training from experienced coaches,” said Joshua.

The RedHawk’s idol is NaVorro Bowman of the San Francisco 49ers.

“He is a good leader, a good teammate and a positive role model,” explained Joshua. “He is one of the less cocky players on the 49ers.”

The RedHawk loves to play football for a number of reasons, one being the fact that it is a team sport that involves strategy and positional thinking.

He also likes to learn and create new plays, as well as the rough and physical aspect of the game.

“Over the years playing spring football, the coaching staff has been great and has made me more intrigued in the sport,” added Joshua, who also enjoys the camaraderie he has with his teammates.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
