Hugues Picard started playing in the fall of 2014 while he and his family lived in Vancouver for a year.

Hugues played in the GSL North Shore league with the Vancouver Trojans and played as a defensive lineman, an offensive lineman and special teams.

He received an All-Star Award from the league.

In January to June of this year, Hugues trained as a quarterback with coaches Jay Prepchuck and Dino Geremia from Football BC.

Upon arriving to Quebec City, he started his final year of elementary school, where he decided to join the Seminaire Saint-Francois Blizzard.

The Blizzard has trained with two high school teams in order to help him decide which program he will be joining next year.

During the offseason, Hugues trains five times a week with the competitive swimming club.

His goals for the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) are to “learn a lot and be selected for the next round.”

On the field his role model is Marcus Mariota because he is good at quickly creating new plays depending on the situation on the field and he throws with a great motion.

“He also has a great attitude on/off the field, showing patience and good grades in school,” added Hugues.

He loves the sport because it is a game of action and reaction and everyone must contribute to win.
