This past year was James Rossiniās first year playing the sport.
He started as an offensive tackle on the championship winning Brockville Buccaneers of the Brockville Youth Football Association (BYFA).
James then got put on as defensive tackle with the Rideau RedBlacks in the National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA).
āI really enjoyed playing defensive tackle because I got to get more into the play and see what I can really do as an athlete,ā said James.
To help him train, he is always outside with his father playing the sport, running plays and having fun.
Football is the one thing he loves to do, so he does not play other sports.
āI love playing football because of the family atmosphere,ā explained the RedBlack, āI enjoy the competition and the discipline it takes to get the job done.ā
Jamesā goals for the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) are to be coached by the best coaches this province has and to improve on his game.
On the field, the defensive tackle does not have any specific role models that he looks up to, but has many favourite players.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
