Zachary Ayotte has been playing football for four years, playing a variety of positions from the offensive line to defensive tackle and middle linebacker.

Over the years, Zachary has played on four teams for the Niagara Generals, one of which won the 2013 Ontario Varsity Fall Football League (OVFFL) championship.

This summer, he played his first season with the Niagara Spears in the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL).

“My goals with the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) are to get a provincial ranking at my position,” said Zachary.

“I’m also looking to continuously improve and be ready for the upcoming summer season of 2016 with the Niagara Spears and for high school when I start attending A.N. Myers in Niagara Falls in the fall,” added the Spear.

During the offseason he works at optimizing his core strength and improving his all around speed and agility.

Moreover, on weekends he plays ice hockey from September to March with the St. Mary’s Majors, as well as working out and doing some grappling three nights a week at a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gym.

He also attends as many local football camps and training sessions as he can during the long winter months.

Zachary’s football idol is J.J. Watt of the Houston Texans because he is a perennial defensive MVP in the NFL, and he likes to mirror his aggressive and relentless style of play.

“I love to play football because I am very competitive and have the strength and endurance to compete in the trenches,” commented Zachary. “I love contact and aggressive play, thus being a defensive tackle or defensive end is ultimate fun for me.”

“I’m a good leader and good team player,” continued the Spear.

“My goal is to help out my teams as much as possible because once you taste victory it’s hard not to crave for more.”
