This was Ben Couling’s first year playing competitive football.
He played in the Ontario Football Conference (OFC) with the bantam Huronia Stallions this past summer, where he was left tackle and had an amazing group of players and coaches.
The Stallions finished the season first in their division.
Ben is currently playing as fullback for the junior Eastview Wildcats in the Georgian Bay Secondary School Association (GBSSA).
In the offseason, he tries to play other sports and join other teams.
“I would also like to start attending camps to get better and I am joining the gym so that I can learn how to work out properly and get stronger,” said Ben, who has also played nose tackle.
The Wildcat’s goals for the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) are to push himself to be the best he can be, learn more and better himself as a football player.
“I love to play football because every new season brings with it new friends, coaches and people to meet,” commented the Wildcats stanndout. “I love playing because it’s the kind of physical game that I love and a game where everyone’s position is just as important to the team doing well.”
His idol is JJ Watt because even though he is such an amazing player, he also is a great person off the field.
“Another reason I look up to him is that he shows what hard work leads to and that if you put 110 percent into every play you can do anything,” added Ben.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
