Mitchell MacKay has been playing football since 2012 with the Cornwall Wildcats in the National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA).

During the 2013-2014 season the offensive guard played on the junior varsity Cumberland Panthers in the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL), and is now currently playing on the varsity Wildcats.

β€œMy goal for the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC) is to challenge myself by going against tougher players, which will benefit myself and help improve my form,” said Mitchell.

Moreover, in the offseason the Wildcats works on improving his strength, athletic ability and football ability by attending Own The Ice gym and train with Ian Perry.

On the field, his idol is one of his coaches, Ntare Bainomugisha, who basically taught him that football is not about winning, but is about building character and making you a better, more responsible person by watching film, being on time and practicing.

β€œI love playing football because it’s not only a contact sport,” commented the Wildcat. β€œTo me it’s a game about strategy and being one step ahead of players.”

β€œWatch film studying is always fun as well,” added Mitchell.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
