As the big day gets closer, coaches in this year’s ONTARIO PROSPECT CHALLENGE have now had a few practices behind them and are starting to identify players that have continuously been standing out and will be difference makers this weekend. One such player is Team Central (GTA) running back Keon Edwards. Edwards redefines versatility as he kicks, punts, returns kicks and punts, and stars as a running back for the Metro Toronto Wildcats.Ā One of the advantages to playing in a game like this is the chance not only to compete against different high caliber football players, but to actually learn from them as well.
“I really like the opportunity to meet other players from all over the province, some I have played against” said Edwards “It’s good because not only do you see how you stack up, but you can learn from them as well, compare techniques, reactions to situations.”
Although Edwards is one of the top ranked running backs in the province he realizes that he has a lot to learn to get his game where he wants. “I’ve learned a lot about pass protection and the importance of it, as well I have learned a lot about rushing the ball as well”
Don’t miss the opportunity to catch the 5’7″ 170 pound Elia middle school star as he and many of the provinces best 13 and 14 do battle in the Ā Baron RingsĀ ā€œUnderclassmenā€ Game. Kick-off for this game is 12h30 at the University of Guelph with the days events getting started at 10h00.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
