HAMILTON VARSITY TIGER CATS 50, VAUGHAN REBELS 0:

Source: John Metcalfe

The Varsity Cats gained their win without taking the field.  Their opponents, the Vaughan Rebels, did not have the required number of players to play and thus, a 50-0 win goes into the annals for the Cats.  The “win” allowed the Cats to keep pace with the defending champion Burlington Stampeders at 5-0 atop the South Division as the Stamps blanked the North Halton Crimson Tide 42-0 on July 1st.  This sets up an intriguing next two weeks as the Stamps and Cats will face each other to go a long way to determining who finishes first in the division.  The first match up goes on July 10th at Nelson Stadium kicking off at 5:00 pm and then they will meet again on July 17th at Nelson with kick off slated for 5:30 pm.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
