OVFL: Quarterback shift for Cowboys

With the OVFL season just days away, Thomas Riolo, the scheduled startingΒ quarterback for the 2013 Cowboys has decided to leave the team. Thomas was a key addition this off-season and was expected to play a major in improving the Cowboys offense this season .

To fill the startingΒ quarterback spot, the Cowboys have gone out and signed John Perovic, a two-time ROPSSAA champion with St.Marcellinus Spirit. The Mississauga native has also recently committed to the York Lions for the 2013 CIS season.

The Cowboys head into the 2013 season with a strong offensive line and a talented receiving core, which bodes well for the young pivot, who looks to provide the offensive fire-power that the Cowboys have been lacking the last few years.

Although, the change came only a few days before their first game, coach Jon Kronemeyer showed great optimism when welcoming his new quarterback.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
