Pair of CFC 100 Hyacks sign with NCAA schools during signing ceremony (VIDEO)

At the British Columbia Sports Hall of Fame, two CFC 100 players officially signed their Letters of Intent with their chosen NCAA Division 1 teams.

CFC#3 Harper Sherman has inked with NCAA FBS team, University of Arizona Wildcats.  Back in early August, the 6’4.75, 290 pound offensive lineman from New Westminster, British Columbia chose the Wildcats from several offers which came his way including Wyoming, Oregon State, California, Nevada, UTEP, Washington State, Wyoming and San Diego State.

Sherman has played for the New Westminster Hyacks of the British Columbia High School Football Association (BCHSFA).  This past season, the lineman was selected as a BCHSFA Western Conference All-Star and a British Columbia AAA all-star.

Meanwhile, CFC 100 Matt Seymour signed with NCAA FBS team Ohio Bobcats.  The 6’1, 173 pound wide receiver/defensive back from New Westminster, British Columbia opted for the Bobcats late last month.

Matt Seymour NCAA Commitment

Even though the Bobcats were the only NCAA team to offer, Seymour had several CIS schools in the mix.  Among those schools were McMaster, Carleton, Manitoba and University of British Columbia (UBC).

“A lot of things went into making my decision,” explained Seymour to CFC last month.  “I liked everything the school had to offer academically and I also felt that I connected very well with the coaching staff especially Coach Solich and Coach [Dwayne] Dixon.”

“I saw Ohio as a place I could live for the next four to five years.”

Seymour played for the New Westminster Hyacks of the British Columbia High School Football Association (BCHSFA). This past season, the CFC 100 was selected as a Provincial ‘AAA’ All-Star at the receiver position.

He expects to redshirt his first season with his new team.

As for the Hyacks, the team has the distinction of being the only non-preparatory high school to have two NCAA Division 1 FBS commitments.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
