Ravens Claw Thunder

OVFL: The junior varsity Toronto Thunder traveled to Essex District High School on Saturday only to fall short to the Essex Ravens.

After a win last week over the Kingston Grenadiers the junior varsity Thunder, lead by Coach Roberto ‘Bubba’ Allen, fell 44-21 to an Essex Raven team that has not lost in this young OVFL season.

The Thunder were gashed on the ground as Essex backs Matthieu Pickens and Chris Tannous were both able to rush for more than 100 yards (155 and 125 respectively) each on a porous Thunder defence. The Ravens gained 329 yards rushing and 433 yards total in a lackluster defensive effort by the Thunder.

Both the junior varsity and varsity Thunder teams are back in action this week hosting the Newmarket Bucs at Birchmount stadium this Saturday. The varsity Thunder get the action underway at 2pm and the juniors take the gridiron at 5pm.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
