Road Warriors in London

On the eve of the playoffs, The Warriors look to go into them with a sense of pride and letting the other teams know that they belong there, starting off on the right foot with a win against the Mustangs, getting momentum rolling into the playoffs.

The Varsity Warriors travelled to London to square off against the Mustangs with home field in the playoffs on the line. The Warriors were without their starting QB and all-star defensive lineman who were representing Ontario at the Canada Cup.

The Warriors still managed to prevail, with a 40-36 victory, capturing third place in the Adams Conference.

Josh Congdon who usually plays the wide receiver position stepped in at QB and played well, throwing for over 100 yards and 2 TD’s, both to D’Saun Greenaway. On defense, James McCallum and Nick Fraser-Greene each had interceptions. Jevon Wisdon had an impactful performance, recording 8 solo tackles and 3 tackles assisted.

The Varsity Warriors host the Etobicoke Eagles this Saturday, July 27 at 2 pm, at Loyola CSS and will try to avenge their week 7 loss to the Eagles. The Warriors expect to have their full roster for this playoff game.

The Junior Varsity Warriors lost their game against Mustangs 40-28, in a game that had no real impact on the final standings, resting many of their starters for this reason.

In the air, Keven John was 12 of 18 for 225 yards and Zach Dies was 9 of 19 for 50 yards.  Keysean Powell caught 5 passes for 82 yards and a TD.

On defense, Ronny Banaay recorded 9 tackles and a sack. Lucas Hodgson recorded 8 tackles and a sack as well.

The JV Warriors had already locked up a first round bye, winning the Golden Horseshoe Division in the Adams Conference. The JV Warriors will be hosting a playoff game on August 3, at Loyola CSS.
