South of the Border: NFL Draft season heating up and CFC100 earns an offer from THE Ohio State

• Five Canadian participants took part in the NFL Combine this past weekend. The full contingent was made up of Syracuse CFC60 OL Matthew Bergeron, Illinois CFC100 DB Sydney Brown, Illinois CFC100 RB Chase Brown, Eastern Michigan CFC100 OL Sidy Sow and Ole Miss DE Tavius Robinson. Among the testing highlights were the Browns’ both breaking the 4.5 barrier in the forty-yard dash and jumping over 40” on their verticals. Relative to their sizes, Tavius Robinson and Sidy Sow also both ran impressive 40 times of 4.66 and 5.07 respectively.

U SPORTS/NCAA COMMITS

• Among recent news regarding the 2023 Draft Class is the information that Guelph CFC100 WR Clark Barnes, UBC CFC100 DE Lake Korte-Moore and Guelph CB Siriman Harrison-Bagayogo will be attending the University at Buffalo’s Pro Day this year. This is following in the footsteps of Toronto Argonauts CFC100 DL Deionte Knight, Hamilton Tiger-Cats DL Anthony Federico, and the CFC100 twins QB Tre Ford of the Edmonton Elks and DB Tyrell Ford of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, who made the cross-border trip last year to showcase their talents.

U SPORTS/NCAA CONSIDERATIONS

• The hot prospect of late has been CFC100 DT Sean Sevillano Jr. The Class is 2024 top five prospect is 6’2”, 300lbs and now holds over 20 DI offers, with Ohio State the latest addition to an elite list of program. Keep an eye out on the big man, who’s currently playing down in Florida.
