Thunderbirds weather the Storm

OFC:  It was a good day for the Forest City Thunderbirds. After a tough loss in the peewee division the other divisions rebounded nicely and the junior and senior varsity teams took on the Niagara Storm at Kiwanis Field.

JUNIOR VARSITY:

The junior varsity Thunderbirds won convincingly defeating the Storm 30-0.

There was a scary moment at the end of the game as Storm defensive tackle Anthony Gaio was taken away by ambulance.  He is expected to be okay according to the OFC Media Official Twitter account.

While, the Thunderbirds will celebrate their victory, they will begin to prepare for their next game, when they take on the Brantford Bisons next Saturday at home. The Bisons will be looking to rebound after losing a close 21-14 game against Hamilton Sunday.

VARSITY:

The Senior Varsity Thunderbirds would not be outdone as they defeated the Storm 33-0 in convincing fashion.

The Thunderbirds will take on the Guelph Bears in Guelph next Saturday.

Both programs are looking to start the year off strong before taking on the defending champions in their respective divisions. The senior varsity Thunderbirds have already improved from last year as they finished the season at 0-8.

Every week will be a battle for both programs but with hard work and team work the programs will persevere no matter what the outcome on the scoreboard.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
