OFC:  Hurricanes win varsity, junior varsity games but lose in bantam action. 

Two out of three ain’t bad.

Hamilton Hurricanes of the Ontario Football Conference (OFC) won two of their games in an action filled weekend for the team on the field.

In varsity action, the Hurricanes scored six touchdowns in the first half and never looked back as the team trounced the Clarington Knights 73-0.  Robert White caught an interception and ran it into the end zone for a 45 yard major score while Daniel MacNicoll also caught an interception and ran it in for 40 yard major.  Both these interceptions were 1:47 apart in the first quarter.  Quarterback Kyle Van Wynsberghe connected with Daniel Petermann for 43 yard touchdown score.

With this win, the varsity team remains undefeated with a 3-0 record while the Knights are still in search of their first win and are 0-3 on the season.

In the junior varsity game, the Hurricanes cruised to a 47-7 win over the Sarnia Sturgeon. Quarterback Connor Carusello connected with Sam Berube twice for majors in the game.  Berube scored a 64 yard major in the first half and then a 25 yard touchdown score in the second half.  The Hurricanes enjoyed a 28-7 halftime lead over the Sturgeon.

With this victory, the junior varsity Hurricanes improve to 2-1 while the Sturgeon suffer their first loss of the season and slide to 2-1 on the season.

The bantam Hurricanes were not as lucky as the team fell to the Sturgeon 36-16.  In the fourth quarter, the team began to show signs of life as Savaughn Magnaye-Jones scored two touchdowns late in the fourth quarter and Dalton Winter was successful on two straight two point attempts.

With the loss, the Hurricanes remain winless this season with a 0-3 record while the Sturgeon is undefeated with a 3-0 record.
