Wild setback

OFC: Β Varsity Wild lose crucial game to Wolverines

The Nipissing Wild’s playoff hopes got a setback as the Wild lost their second consecutive game to the Peterborough Wolverines 36-10 in OFC varsity action this past weekend.

With the victory, the Wolverines now move into the fourth spot.Β  Both teams now have 3-3 records on the season.Β  There are only four spots in the playoffs and should it start today, the Wolverines would get the advantage over the Wild due to head to head tiebreakers.

The Wild’s sole touchdown of the game in Peterborough came from Eric Lapointe while kicker Jim Hegyi was successful on a field goal attempt. Three quarterbacks played in the game for the Wild – Zach Villeneuve, Justin Rancourt and Landon Larabie.Β  However, the offensive unit had trouble executing their game plan against the Wolverines.

The Wolverines led 16-10 at halftime.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
