Wildcat on a mission

As the varsity Metro Toronto Wildcats continue to claw to solidify their playoff contention, defensive lineman Tramayne Stephen has set a goal for himself.

ā€œWork hard and push yourself to finish goals in life and on the field,” said Stephen.

At 6ā€™2, 270 pounds, the defensive lineman is looking achieving his goal of making the playoffs with the Wildcats, and ultimately win an OVFL Championship.

ā€œI thought this season was going to be great, but it did not go as I expected,” added Stephen. Ā “I am hoping we play well enough to make it to the playoffs.”

During the fall season, Stephen plays for the Northern Red Knights. So far this season, the lifelong Wildcat has close to 20 solo tackles, five sacks and three forced fumbles.

ā€œI can attribute my success to my coaches and teammates,ā€ said Stephen. ā€œIā€™ve learned how to work hard and become a member of a team”

“That is something the Wildcat organization has taught meĀ I’ve also learned to take responsibility for my failures. Ā If i don’t play strong enough or neglect an assignment on a play.”

Keeping with the theme of setting goals, Stephen has the desire to play for a CIS school, particularly the Queen’s Golden Gaels.

ā€œThe reason why I want to play for Queen’s is because it is a great school for education, but also I appreciate how the school values tradition,” added Stephen.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
