WOLFE: Overcoming disappointment

This is the time of year when many high school football players are making their choice of university to attend. A time of great excitement for some, but also a time of great deception for others. A high percentage, perhaps most football players, make a choice that is heavily weighted by the football program.

In some cases, their choice or choices are limited by the universities. The limitations are primarily based upon 2 factors:

  • Academics – the student-athletes must have the required academic average to gain acceptance into the university.
  • The football coach(es) at the university must want the athlete to play a role on their team. A 2nd consideration, again controlled by the university coach(es); does the athlete have the talent to be offered financial aid?

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
