WOLFE: Parity or Mirage? Comparing the U Sports and NCAA 2021 seasons so far

BRAD COLLINSON AND GUILLAUME BOURASSA REUNITE WITH THE STINGERS.

The beginning of the 2021 university football season has been nothing if not surprising, and that is the case on both sides of the border. Genuine competition makes for greater excitement. I contend that only fans of Alabama, Laval, Ohio State and Western Ontario believe that their teams’ dominance makes for exciting football.

Typical powerhouses have looked ordinary, starting with NCAA football, Ohio State, Alabama, Oklahoma, and Clemson, are all off to mediocre beginnings to their seasons. Prognosticators had all four of these teams as potential national championship contenders.
