As most football fans know; the RPO (Run Pass Option) has become the “big thing” in today’s offensive football; and it is big at all levels. TV commentators discuss its merits on a regular basis. Two prominent and incredibly successful coaches; have discussed RPOs as follows –
Bill Belichick – “RPOs force defenses to defend every blade of grass”
Nick Saban – “I don’t think there’s any answer to RPOs; we score like 40 points more a game than we used to. But it’s exciting.”
