OFC JV/Varsity: Β Both Wolverines’ teams upend opponents

Both Peterborough Wolverines teams had a successful weekend on the field as they came away with victories in Ontario Football Conference (OFC) action.

The varsity Wolverines coasted by the Nipissing Wild 35-10.Β  With this win, the Wolverines are now 3-3 and inch one step closer in the quest to secure a playoff spot.

Logan White led the way as he scored three majors; including an 80 yard punt return score.Β  Kicker Warren Reid was successful on two field goal attempts and booted three PAT’s. Devon MacCallum scored the only other touchdown for the Wolverines.

This weekend, the varsity team will be travelling on the road to face their opponents, the North Halton Crimson Tide.Β  The game is on Saturday July 6th, 2013 at 6:00pm.

Meanwhile, the junior varsity Wolverines remain undefeated.Β  The team crushed the Vaughan Rebels 68-7 this past weekend to improve to 6-0 this season.

Tyler O’Bront scored two touchdowns in the victory.Β  Donnie LaFonte, Patrick Pearson, Braden Frise, Brad Deal, Matthew Rozema, Keegan Sands and Sidney Parkes each added a major.Β  Wolverines’ kicker was successful on an 11 yard field goal attempt and nine conversions.

The junior varsity team will play on the road against the North Halton Crimson Tide on Saturday July 6th, 2013.Β  Kickoff is 3:00pm at Georgetown District High School.
