Ravens’ luck (VIDEO)

Ottawa defensive back transfers from Vanier Cup Champions to OUA team.

This fall, Kadeem Vaillancourt will be joining his brother this fall in Ontario.

Last week, the 6’2, 200 pound defensive back from Ottawa, Ontario made the decision to transfer from the Vanier Cup Champions, Laval Rouge et Or to the Carleton Ravens.

With Vaillancourt making the move from RSEQ to the OUA, he joins his younger brother and CFC TOP 100 athlete Dmitri who recently committed to the team after completing his high school career with the St. Francis Xavier Coyotes of the National Capital Secondary School Athletic Association (NCSSAA).

Vaillancourt sat out last year as he transferred from the Concordia Stingers to the Rouge et Or.  Therefore, he is eligible to play immediately for the Ravens.

“Sometimes in the recruiting game you get luck and have someone fall on your lap and with Kadeem it did,” commented Carleton Ravens Head Coach Steve Sumarah on Vaillancourt’s transfer.   “Having him come back to Ottawa and joining his brother Dimitri is pretty exciting for our program.”

“Kadeem is an exceptional athlete who can play all the positions in the secondary.  He will bring leadership to that position and also help stabilize it.  HE will be another piece in the puzzle as we continue to build our program.”

Other teams Vaillancourt has suited up for during his career include the Cumberland Panthers of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) and Gloucester South Raiders of the National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA).
