OVFL All-Star Prospects Game Preview: Chance to make an impression

Who: OVFL All Star teams, Wettges vs. Adam

Where: Ron Joyce Stadium, McMaster.

When: 2:00pm Saturday April 11th 2015

This afternoon, a handful of the province’s best players will get a chance to make most of their dreams become a reality. At McMaster’s Ron Joyce Stadium, the best OVFL players will be taking the field, hoping to make a lasting impression.

 

Overall, this game means a lot to aspiring football players.

“It shows all my hardwork has paid off,” said Jesse Luketa, who will suit up for the Wettges team on Saturday.

For some, this is a first time learning experience, while for others it is about redemption.

“Last year, it was a learning curve and good experience meeting all the other players and coaches, but this year I really wanna show case my skills and help show what other guys can do as well.” said Wettges quarterback Connor Smith.

On the other side, the Adam Team is just as excited, and are determined to win.

“It’s an honour to be selected,” said Adam offensive lineman CJ Church.  “I’m not there to joke around and just have a good time, I’m there to win and the other team will know it after the first drive.”

“Being selected means a lot to me knowing I’ve been recognized around the league makes me feel great,” added Adam linebacker Erik Erikson.

The game, which kicks off at 2:00pm promises to be a good one. Every player on both teams has something to play for, a chance to realize a dream, a chance to earn the privilege to play football beyond high school, at a much more competitive level.
