Battle River Shock suffer second defeat of season to Lloydminster Red Dogs (SUMMARY)

The Battle River Shock chalked up their second loss of the midget football season. The Shock lost 19-7 to the Lloydminster Red Dogs in this weeks match ups. The Red Dogs came out strong and were very organized on offense and defense. The Shock has a strong offensive line but needs to work on better looks down the field.

On the other hand, the Red Dogs relied on their punter and star player for the win. Donavan Grannum had a 90 yard punt return and linebacker Jordan McCorminck came off the field adding a 75 yard interception to his impressive record. The teams punter John Block had an outstanding game.

“John punted great, he definitely won the field position battle,” said head coach Rod Kirby.

As for the recent public outcry of opposing parents to the Red Dogs lack of sportsmanship the coach had no comment. Kirby is known for preaching sportsmanlike conduct and positive field conduct to his players.

The Shock will focus on becoming stronger to face their next opponent the Edmonton Chargers.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
