Top ranked Canada Prep Raiders did not play this past week.
Meanwhile, Trinity College Bears and Upper Canada College Blues will vie for the Conference Independent Schools Athletic Association (CISAA) Championship on Tuesday afternoon. This is a rivaly that dates back to 1868.
The Blues advanced after defeating St. Andrew’s College Saints 28-9. The score was still very close going into the third quarter as the Blues only enjoyed a 12-9 lead. The turning point of this game was when the Saints were threatening with 1st and goal at the Blues four yard line. However, the Blues defence came up big and thwarted the Saint’s chance to score on three attempts and in effect caused a turnover. Aidan Power led the offence in this game.
With this win, it will mark the sixth appearance for the UCC Blues in the CISAA Championships.
In the other semi-final, the Bears won 66-22 over St. Michael’s Kerry College Blues.
