CFC25 Small School Rankings WEEK 5: Two new programs makes their first appearance in the top 10

TOP HEADLINES

  • We are starting to see the rankings stabilize as we reach the midway point of the season, but that doesn’t mean we’ve got it all figured out. Tec Voc continue to lead the pack in Manitoba with another 20-0 victory over St. Norbert, but the weather behind them has only gotten foggier with Fort Frances dropping after a tough loss to Churchill, who has now improved to 2-3 on the year. All eyes now turn to their season finale matchup with John Taylor, who will be looking to prove their opening loss to Fort Frances is long forgotten history in the locker room after ripping off four straight wins.

CFC100 CLASS 2026 RANKINGS

  • You know it’s never stable in Quebec, and it was College de Levis turn to shake up the rankings with a key 14-7 victory over College Laval that catapults them into the top ten. Of course the bye weeks effect this stat, but to give you a better idea of just how tight the race for the Bol d’Or is right now, you’ve got four teams sitting on four wins, and five teams sitting on two losses, who are all chasing Deux-Montagnes who remain the only undefeated program. The margins are razor thin, which means we are going to get a magnificent fireworks display come playoff time.

CFC STAR RANKINGS DATABASE

  • Another province that is shaping up to be pure chaos in the playoffs is Saskatchewan with Greenall continuing their undefeated run in their first season competing in the South Rural League. Weyburn are right on their tail after a decisive 24-2 victory over Central, and then you can’t forget about Bishop J. Mahoney or F.W. Johnson on the other side of the bracket just waiting for their chance to strike.
  • It always takes a little longer to find out which Ontario programs are worthy of a spot on the rankings, but we believe we’ve finally found three strong candidates with Holy Cross, L’Essor and St. Joseph’s representing. L’Essor are preparing for their biggest test of the year against North Star, who are the only other undefeated program in the WECSSAA Tier II division, while St. Joseph’s are in the same boat getting ready to take on Strathoy, who sit atop the TVRA Walzak Division with a 3-0 record.

  • BC is still the hardest province to judge with very little action between programs ranked on the list so far, but we just have to be patient for the playoffs and watch out for all the trap games. South Kamloops only survived one week on the list after a devastating loss to Okanagan Mission, and now be replace on the list with Holy Cross, who are beginning to hit their stride after scheduling a couple tough AAA matchups against Centennial and St. Thomas More during exhibition play.
