For the fifth year in a row, Canadafootballchat.com (CFC) is pleased to bring you the national high school football rankings known as theΒ #CFC50.
“One more word out of you #27 and you have played your last high school football game”. Β We at CFC think of officials as the third team on the field and encourage players and coaches to work with officials. Β But when an official makes this statement he needs to be reprimanded, banned for a year or more. Β Power trips are for insecure people that we need to get out of our game.
Speaking of power, we hope the powers at be are putting their focus into the impending officiating crisis we are about to encounter in some parts of the country. Β Football participation is growing ever so slightly while officiating numbers are and will plummet with impending retirements. Β Teams, fans, players and coaches should be a part of the solution…are you?
All that being said, what a tremendous week of football we saw from coast to coast. Β Regina’s Leboldus extended their reign in Saskatchewan andΒ CurΓ©-Antoine-Labelle Wolves won their first Quebec title since 2008.
Upsets all over the place in the Golden Horseshoe at Lorne Park upended St. Roch, St. Thomas More defeated previous CFC#8 Cardinal Newman and A.N. Meyer got past Saint Paul.
Big shout out to Bill Crothers Colts who won the York Region final on Saturday by defeating previous CFC#12 Huron Heights, the third game the two played this year. Β Ladies and Gentlemen remember the nameΒ Amir Zeisler.
And speaking of Saskatchewan, a shout out to the 6-man & 9-man winners including:Β 9-Man Clavet, Melfort 6-Man Lembourg, Watrous.
