Quebec
- Add another notch in the belt for Saint-Jean-Eudes, who remain flawless after another huge 33-27 victory over College Bourget. We’ve been waiting all year for these two to finally square off between the white lines, and they didn’t disappoint putting on a fantastic display. If we are lucky, this won’t be the last time these two meet this year, but the Condors can’t afford to start day dreaming about the playoffs now with a pivotal matchup against Seminaire-St-Francois in their regular season finale with top seed on the line after the Blizzard improved their record to 7-1 with a clutch 25-14 win over Armand-Corbeil. It’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting playoff brackets we’ve ever seen in Quebec with the top five programs all capable of putting together a run if they can get hot in November.

- It’s getting spicy in Saskatoon as we race towards the playoffs after St. Joseph got some revenge with a 15-2 victory over their rivals Holy Cross. The Guardians have now split the season series after dropping their regular season opener to the Crusaders 22-13, and are now looking like the team to beat in the 6A Saskatoon bracket. They have one game left on the schedule against Centennial before they begin their march towards a potential rematch against Miller in the Saskatchewan 6A Provincial Finals.
- The semifinals are set in Regina with Campbell getting ready to try and shock the nation against Miller, while Riffel will be hoping to flip the script on LeBoldus. History isn’t on the underdogs side with Miller defeating Campbell 36-0, and LeBoldus having zero issues defeating Riffel 38-0 earlier in the year, but thankfully they don’t offer any bonus points in the playoffs for past results.
Alberta
- If anyone was thinking Ernest Manning’s epic rise the last two years was a fluke, you should probably reevaluate that thought process after the Griffins tore St. Francis apart 51-14. They’ve now completed the regular season with a perfect 6-0 record, and should have all the confidence in the world that they have what it takes to bring home back-to-back Calgary city titles. If they can complete their first post-season mission, then there’s no reason why they can’t give Harry Ainlay and Raymond a run for their money in the Provincial Playdowns.
- Paul Kane get some shine this week making their first appearance on the rankings after defeating Salisbury 22-10. The Blues finish the regular season with a 5-2 record, with their only losses coming to Harry Ainlay and Bev Facey. They will get the chance to pay back Bev Facey this week with a showdown in the Edmonton Metro semifinals.

- The BC ranking curse continues with New Westminster falling off the list after Seaquam delivered an abrupt 35-14 wake up call. Right now it’s tough to tell who is the seventh best program in BC this season, but hopefully the fog clears up in the final two weeks of regular season action with multiple teams looking to prove their true playoff contenders.
Ontario
- Sir Frederick Banting didn’t read the script before taking on A.B. Lucas, and decided to write their own version of history instead with a decisive 26-7 win over the Vikings. They effectively knocked two teams off the rankings with one shot as Catholic Central’s short lived tenure on the list came to an end with an eye-opening 35-0 loss to South, and their defeat at the hands of A.B. Lucas doesn’t hold water anymore. This loss came out of nowhere for the Vikings, and while they still hold onto the top spot in the Circelli Division heading into the playoffs, they know they have a lot to work ahead of them if they want to compete for the city championship.
- Was there ever any doubt? The first championship of the season will be handed out in Sault Ste. Marie this week after Korah and St. Mary’s took care of business in their semifinal bouts. If you’re looking for a favourite, then you’re outta luck with these two splitting the season series, but momentum might be on the Knights side after a shocking 37-14 victory over the Colts two weeks ago. If St. Mary’s can find a way to repeat that performance, then it’ll bring an end to Korah’s drive for five straight OFSAA Bowl victories, which would tie them with W.F. Herman and St. Thomas More for the record.
- Remember the days of W.F. Herman and Holy Names going toe-to-toe in Windsor? Well it’s a new era with all eyes locked in on an undefeated battle between Holy Names and Sandwich with first place on the line. So far Holy Names have been more impressive when you look at their point totals against the same opponents, but there’s no reason why the Sabres can’t take their game to new heights with a victory over the Knights. This will be Sandwich’s last game before playoffs begin with a bye in the final week of the regular season, so you know they’ll be extra motivated to head into the postseason on a high.
- The revamped Toronto high school league has been full of parity this season, but we’ve finally got a representative on the list after Western Tech handed Richview their first loss of the year. It came down to Northern and Western Tech, but we decided to give the Colts the nod due to recent form despite the Red Knights defeating the Colts in the season opener. Northern will have a chance to leap frog them on the list if they can take care of business against Richview this week. Either way, we’ve been loving the new format in Toronto that pits the best public and Catholic schools against each other in the AAA Division.
