Currently playing for the CFC50 No. 6 ranked nationally, Terry Fox Ravens in British Columbia, linebacker Mason Reeves is already far in his football career.
The 6’0, 213lbs athlete has been playing for nine years at all levels. He says that football has taught him “teamwork, competition, sportsmanship and dedication”, and adds that he is working towards being the best linebacker in Canada.
This goal during the CFCFPC and the one of possibly making the CFC100 top prospects list (as this is his graduating year) are two very important focal points that Reeves wants to make sure that he fully prepares for and has the chance to achieve.
A fierce competitor, Mason says he will weight train 4-5 times per week in addition to doing Crossfit 3 times per week and salsa dancing. Physical preparation comes in all shapes and sizes. The drive to improve athletic and football ability will take an athlete to many different places, only to enhance all aspects of their game.
In addition to the physical preparation, Reeves looks to role models to shape his game and give him inspiration. When asked who he looks up to, Mason replied, “Adam Bighill because he has proven that your success is determined by the effort you are willing to put in.”
Reeves has already won half the battle with this type of mindset.
