Fox 40 Prospect Challenge (West Coast): On the schoolyard is where ‘Skinner’ found football

On the schoolyard is where Ethan Scott (aka. Skinner) first found football.

I have only played for 2 years but before I played with pads me and a lot of my buddy’s would play full rules full tackle football at elementary school at lunch rain or shine.”

The 5’10, 147-pound receiver and defensive back says that football runs in his family and has helped him create an strong identity, “it’s what I’m known for,” he says.

His stat line this past season was 17 receptions and 198 yards, and 3 touchdowns. As a defensive back, he registered 23 tackles, 6 interceptions, and 2 touchdowns. He averaged 23 /28 field goals as a kicker.

In the off-season, Scott swims competitively to stay in shape as well as plays football with his friends and teammates. He hopes that at that CFCFPC, he can show his teammates, coaches, and family what he is capable of.

And while Scott looks to improve his football skill and abilities, it was his Dad that ultimately started Scott down this path. His Dad was a center in his high school days in Calgary and has coached Ethan. Scott explained, “He is my coach, my idol, and my father, he got me into it.”

He adds, “My mother is also someone who also has kept me going, she has been my biggest role model. She takes me to the gym, she gets me out of the house, she trains me, and best of all she loves me even off the field.

Both of them are the best people I know, they may not be professionals but they have made a bigger impact in my life then any football player could.”
