Garden City (7), Sisler Spartans (30)
In the battle of north Winnipeg, the Sisler Spartans defeated their rivals the Garden City Gophers 30-7 to win the McPhillips Bowl. Every year the two teams come together and raise money for the Never Alone Foundation. This year over $2,000 was raised for Cancer research. The Spartans sit at 2-1. Garden City is still looking for their first win of the season at 0-3.

Dakota Lancers (14), Vincent Massey Trojans (2)
The Dakota Lancers get the upset victory over the Vincent Massey Trojans, 14-2. In their defeat of the Trojans, Dakota’s Nick Conway was mentioned as one of two Special Team Players of the Week. The Lancers are 3-0, while Vincent Massey drops to 1-2.
Players of the Week in the Potter Division
Offensive- Quarterback of the Sisler Spartans Tyler Koniuck went 8 for 17 for 119 yards, and 1 touchdown. Tyler also carried the ball for 92 yards on 7 carries, and scored 3 touchdowns in a win over the Gophers.
Defensive- Ben Arnovitch from the Grant Park Pirates had 8 tackles (4 for losses), 2 fumble recoveries and 1 for the winning touchdown against Sturgeon.
Special- Vince DeRosa kicker for the St. Paul’s Crusaders went 5 for 5 on field goals, 3 for 3 on converts, and punted the ball 3 times with a 35 yard average.
Nick Conway earned second Special Teams honors for his performance of 4 special teams tackles, 1 forced fumble, and one 72 yard punt return for a touchdown during an upset victory over Vincent Massey.

CFC will be covering the game between Grant Park and Oak Park at Thursday at 5:00 pm, also on Thursday, Steinbach is traveling to Vincent Massey for a game at 5:00 pm and Sturgeon visits Sisler at 5:00pm. On Friday, a battle of two undefeated teams happens when the Dakota Lancers meet up with the St. Paul’s Crusaders.
Kas Vidruk Division (AA)
Neelin Spartans (43), Portage Collegiate Trojans (29)
The Neelin Spartans defeated the Portage Collegiate Trojans to improve their record to 2-1, while Portage falls to 1-2. John Saville of the Neelin Spartans was named Special Teams Player of the Week after his big game against Portage.

River East Kodiaks (16), Kelvin Clippers (18)
River East lost a close one to the Kelvin Clippers, 18-16. Clippers quarterback Daniel Moroz was named Offensive Player of the Week for leading the Clippers to victory over the Kodiaks. Brendan Barylski from the Kodiaks received Defensive Player of the Week honors. River East drops to 1-2, Kelvin is still undefeated at 3-0.

Crocus Plains Plainsmen (3), Dryden Eagles (14)
The Dryden Eagles improved their record to 3-0 after winning their game against the Plainsmen, 14-3. Jarret Hicks of the Dryden Eagles is leading the Vidruk Division in rushing with 355 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Miles Mac Buckeyes (8), St. Paul’s (31)
St. Paul’s is 2-1 after beating the Miles Macdonnel Buckeyes, 31-8. Miles Mac is still trying to get their first win of the season.
Vincent Massey Vikings (36), Elmwood Giants (19)
Vincent Massey is tied with two other teams at 2-1 (St. Paul’s, Neelin) after winning against the Elmwood Giants, 36-19. Elmwood and Miles Mac are both still winless.
Players of the Week in the Vidruk Division
Offensive- Kelvin’s Daniel Moroz completed 18 of 29 passes for 424 yards (setting a new AAA/AA record), with 5 touchdown passes and one two point conversion in a win against the Kelvin Clippers.
Defensive- River East Kodiak’s Brenden Barylski earned 9 tackles, 1 sack and 1 interception.
Special Teams- John Saville from the Neelin Spartans had 3 special teams tackles, 2 assisted special teams tackles and a 112 yard missed field goal return for a touchdown.
On tap this week in the Vidruk Division…
On Thursday the Portage Collegiate Trojans will be in Dryden Ontario for a game at 3:00 pm, the second game will see the River East Kodiaks at the Crocus Plains Plainsmen for a kickoff at 5:00 pm.
Friday night’s action will have the Elmwood Giants and Neelin Spartans kicking off at 5:00 pm, the Vincent Massey Vikings will be in Winnipeg for a game at St. Paul’s at 5:00 pm, and the Kelvin Clippers meet the Miles Mac Buckeyes at 6:45 pm at Eastside.
Andy Currie Division (A)
Daniel MacIntyre Maroons (39), Maples Marauders (0)
The Maroons shut-out the Maples Marauders last Thursday to improve to 3-0, Maples is now 0-3. Daniel Mac sits with two other teams tied for first in the Andy Currie Division (St. John’s, Beaver Brae). Even though his team lost, Adamo Uricuoli was named the Special Teams Player of the Week.

Kildonan East earned a decisive victory over the Bulldogs and they are now 2-1. Churchill along with St. Norbert and the Maples are all still trying to find their first win of the season.

St. Norbert Celtics (7), Beaver Brae Broncos (32)
The Beaver Brae Broncos are tied for first after a big victory against St. Norbert. In their win against the Celtics, Beaver Brae’s Chase Neufeld received Offensive Player of the Week honors.

West Kildonan Wolverines (14), Fort Frances Muskies (13)
West Kildonan gets the win in a close game that could have gone either way. With this win, the Wolverines are 2-1, Fort Frances is 1-2.
St. John’s Tigers (24), Tec Voc Hornets (14)
The St. John’s Tigers wouldn’t be stopped by Tec Voc as they kept rolling for their third win of the season. In a loss to St. John’s, Tec Voc’s Aaron Ross was given Defensive Player of the Week. St. John’s leads the Andy Currie Division at 3-0, Tec Voc is 1-2 on the year.
Players of the Week in the Andy Currie Division
Offensive – Chase Neufeld of the Beaver Brae Broncos rushed for 247 yards in a win against St. Norbert.
Defensive- Tec Voc Hornets’ Aaron Ross had 7 tackles, 2.5 sacks and 1 fumble recovery in a loss to St. John’s.
Special- Adamo Uricuoli from the Maples Marauders punted the ball 6 times for 180 yards (30 yard average), and earned 2 special teams tackles in a loss to Daniel MacIntyre.
Coming up this week in the Currie Division
The first of three games on Thursday is Maples at West Kildonan at 3:30pm, St. Norbert has a meeting with St. John’s on Thursday at 5:00 pm at Eastside, and also on Thursday Daniel MacIntyre will be at Churchill for a game at 5:00 pm.
On Friday, Tec Voc and Fort Frances will play at 3:00 pm, and at 4:30 pm at Eastside the Beaver Brae Broncos will clash with the Kildonan East Reivers.
The Fox 40 Prospect Challenge (FPC) is a series of elite showcase games that feature the best tackle football players from across Canada aged 10-19 years. Tournaments are played in Central Canada (ON) and the West Coast (BC).
