Not many prospects have been able to capture the attention of Canada during their recruiting process, but there was no better ambassador than Luketa. The number one ranked Class of 2018 CFC100 High School prospect earned his reputation while playing at Mercyhurst Prep in Pennsylvania, and at that point it was already obvious Luketa was destined for stardom earning over 40 NCAA DI scholarships. The only question was whether he’d be able to find his way onto NFL radars, but that question was put to rest after his career with the Nittany Lions.

The 6’3″, 253lbs prospect grew into his role as captain of the Penn State defence at middle linebacker, then made the switch to defensive end this past season for his most productive year yet totaling 61 tackles, 8.5 for loss and one interception. His accolades earned him an invite to the Senior Bowl where he was one of the top performers, and when you add it all up Luketa amassed 148 total tackles becoming a fan favourite in Happy Valley before declaring for the draft.

It’s unclear exactly how the Cardinals will use Luketa in their scheme, but the Ottawa product has never met a challenge he couldn’t face making him a steal at pick 256.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
