The Burlington Stampeders Varsity squad moved their season record to 4-0 with a convincing 42-14 win over the Brantford Bison in Ontario Football Conference summer action on June 16th. Bison dropped to 2-2 as a result of the setback.

BISONS LOSE TO BURLINGTON – WRITTEN BY BRAD WARD
The Brantford Bisons lost their second game in a row after being trounced by the Burlington Stampeders 42-14 on Tuesday night. The Bisons fall to 2-2 on the season while the Stampeders gained a tie for first place with a 3-0 record.
The Bisons opened the game with two good offensive drives but the first one stalled on the Stampeders side of the field while the second one ended a scoring opportunity with a quarterback Matt Krason interception. After that, it was all Stampeders as they controlled the game with a balanced offensive attack that led to a 28-7 halftime lead and a tough defense that contained runningback Tristan Almas throughout the game. Krason had a good game passing, throwing two touchdown passes to receiver Andre Toic who also kicked the converts for the Bisons 14 points but the Stampeders answered with points of their own in the second half for the 42-14 victory.
“We came out flat and never really got into the game tonight. Give credit to Burlington, they played with energy and kept us off balance the entire game. said Kelly Ireland, head coach for the Bisons.
The Bisons have a short week to prepare for their next opponent, the Chatham Cougars during the Bisons Homecoming game which will take place on Saturday, June 20th at Bisons Alumni field. Kickoff is scheduled for 5pm.
