Sky’s the limit for young squad

Bantam Cougars vs Waterloo Predators

Final Score 7 to 6
This was a tough defensive battle for both teams. Offensively we started off kinda of stagnant but as time went on our physicality with our O line started to wear on Waterloo. Those 2 to 3 yard runs started to turn into 5 and 6 yard gains. We also had success throwing the ball as Brennan Normandin-Kerr and Jack Crown combined to complete 4 of 6 passes for approximately 80 yards. Both Gabe VanMoorsel and Ashton Vink preformed fantastic in the receiving game. Also our entire Oline played extremely well with Ben Church and Jaxon Henderson running the ball extremely well out of the backfield.
Defensively we played extremely well stoping a very potent Waterloo offense. Upfront Alex Jones led the way applying consistent pressure for our D. Danny Vaughan played very well a LB recording many tackles and an INT. And in the secondary Nathan Holdaway kept things under control providing physical hits and recording an INT.
Specials team was also a bright spot this past weekend.
We have a very young and inexperienced group this year. But the light is starting to come on for this group and sky is the limit. On to OakvilleΒ this Saturday at 1pm.
