The junior varsity Metro Toronto Wildcats got off to a rough start this past weekend, losing their season opener 40-0 to the Cumberland Panthers.
“We had a rough outing,” said Wildcats Head Coach Trevor Thompson, “To be honest, we have such a young team with so much to resolve internally that we are having a hard time getting focused on any opponent.”
The Wildcats will be hard pressed to resolve these issues quickly as they have the Pickering Dolphins coming to town this weekend.
The Dolphins are coming off a dominating 36-6 home win last weekend.
“I know we are facing a balanced offence with a quarterback coming off an excellent game with a very efficient performance,” said Thompson, “Their defense is very stout as well.”
“We have a very tough challenge this weekend”
Thompson indicated that the team’s own development will be key in their preparation for this week.
The Wildcats will play host to the Dolphins this weekend at 4:30pm at Ester Shiner Stadium.
