#CFC10 Non-public school rankings (7): Kerry Blues make statement

The “Battle of the Blues” lived up to its pre-game billing with a thrilling 19-18 victory by the St. Michael’s College Kerry Blues over the UCC Blues.  The game was hosted by the University of Toronto.

The Saints defeated the TCS Bears 50-30 in Port Hope.

RB Adre Simmonds (#OPC 2016 Offensive MVP) led the way on offence, scoring 5 TDs and rushing for nearly 300 yards. QB Ben Schmidt was excellent today, throwing only two incompletions and throwing and rushing for a TD. Walter Karabin was the recipient of Schmidt’s TD strike. Lucas La Brier had a big game as well, catching 11 balls for over 150 yards. The OL controlled the line of scrimmage against a big and physical TCS defensive front.

On defence, DEs Liam Gracey and Yiannis Spetsakis were once again excellent, while LBs Ian MacLean and Angus Austgarden enjoyed strong games. In the secondary, Luke St. John, Nick Jadidi and Jin-Woo Yu all had interceptions. The Saints’ relentless defensive pressure forced TCS into several mistakes throughout the game.
