CFC50 High School Rankings WEEK 5: Time to put up or shut up with playoffs knocking at the door

TOP HEADLINES

  • The classic rivalry matchup between Holy Cross and St. Joseph in Saskatoon never disappoints. This time it was Holy Cross who found a way to overcome adversity with a 29-28 nail-biting victory over St. Joseph. Unless something catastrophic happens, we can almost guarantee these two programs will meet again with everything on the line in November. On the other side of the province, Riffel secured their spot in second place with a clutch 22-14 win against Campbell. With LeBoldus giving Miller a run for their money as well, it looks like the race for the Regina title is still wide open.

CFC100 CLASS 2026 RANKINGS

  • We’ve got chaos to report in New Brunswick with Harrison Trimble joining the list after pulling out a 17-17 tie against the clubhouse leaders Tantramar. This will be a fun storyline to watch unfold down the stretch with the Trojans looking for their first provincial trophy since 2000
  • Now for your weekly war report from Quebec. This week it was College Notre-Dame who dropped in the rankings after a tough 12-7 loss to Saint-Francois, who finally got back in the win column. Meanwhile Saint-Jean-Eudes and Cure-Antoine-Labelle managed to create some separation with the middle of the pack, and are still just one game behind Charles-Lemoyne for top seed in the division with two weeks of football left to play.

CFC STAR RANKINGS DATABASE

  • Salisbury have fallen off the rankings in Alberta after a shocking loss to Ross Shepperd. This left a gap for Spruce Grove to jump onto the list after a strong 4-1 start to the season, but we are about to find out how good they truly are with Salisbury next up on the schedule. Down in Calgary, St. Francis continue to quietly go about their business with another decisive 24-3 victory over Notre Dame.

CREATE YOUR CFC PROFILE

  • Ontario continues to provide drama on a weekly basis. Bishop Tonnos continue to skate by with a close 12-7 victory over Bishop Ryan, who will be looking to prove it wasn’t a fluke in their matchup against St. Thomas More this week. We’ve also got a new program ranked out of London with Sir Frederick Banting showing their muscle with a 35-21 win over South. Meanwhile, Laurier drop off the rankings after a loss to Medway, who are looking like they could be the ultimate dark horse come playoff time after a 3-0 start. They have another big test against A.B. Lucas this week that will be a good indicator of just how far they can go this season.
