Fox 40 BCHS to send all-star team to play Central Canada all-stars in Ottawa May 6th

The Fox 40 Prospect Challenge (Fox 40) will feature its first cross country all-star game.  The BEST Grade 11 players from the WEST COAST (BC-AB) will travel to Ottawa to play the BEST Grade 11 players from CENTRAL CANADA (ON-QC) on Saturday May 6th.

The WEST COAST team will be chosen from the Phase 2 SELECTION CAMP in early April whereas the CENTRAL CANADA team will be chosen from the 4 REGION teams playing the previous week.

Fox 40 Prospect Challenge (FPC) – WEST COAST – 4 GAMES & 1 TRAVEL TEAM

What is it?

A series of elite showcase games that feature the best tackle football players from across Canada.  The four West Coast games will take place in Vancouver and a Grade 11 West Coast travel team will play in Ottawa.

How does it work?

Three phase event:

(1) Phase 1 is the tryout series: Regional camps that players attend to showcase their skills to be invited to phase 2, the selection camp (no football equipment, mouth guards recommended). CLICK HERE for tryout schedule

(2) Phase 2 is a selection camp:  The selection camp is designed for players to showcase their football ability in a camp setting to be invited to phase 3, the all-star game (full equipment required). Phase 2 dates will be confirmed by mid-January.  Projected first weekend of April.

(3) Phase 3 culminates in a showcase all-star game:  The weekend prior to the games is a practice weekend followed the next weekend by a competitive all-star game.

SPECIAL: Grade 11 players will have a chance to compete to make a travel team that will play a game in Ottawa, Ontario versus the Fox 40 Ontario/Quebec all-stars in the nation’s capital.  Like the other teams, this team will be selected from Phase 2 participation.

Who can play?

All players living in British Columbia or the Prairies within below age groupings.

2003 (or before) players will play – EAST v. WEST Grade 8 game

2002 players will play                        – EAST v. WEST Freshmen game

2001 players will play                        – EAST v. WEST Sophomore game

98-00 players will play                       – EAST v. WEST Varsity game

SPECIAL TRAVEL TEAM:

2000 (Grade 11s) players will travel to Ottawa to play an all-star team from Ontario.  The top 32 Grade 11’s will be invited to this team and the rest will be eligible for the Varsity team in their region.

When are the games?

(1) Ottawa travel team – Saturday May 6^th

Note: Forecasted travel days Friday May 5th & Sunday May 7^th

Phase 1 (open tryouts)      : $60

Phase 2 (invite only)           : $99

Phase 3 (invite only)           : $149

Travel Team price: ***will pay the same as above 3 total phases plus cost of return flight Vancouver-Ottawa.

All Ottawa expenses (food and accommodations) paid for by Fox 40.
