Sturgeon desperation

OFC: Β Sturgeons need win to keep hopes alive

The Sarnia Sturgeons are in desperate need of a victory this week.

The 2-3 Sturgeons haven’t won a game since June 1st. In the past four weeks, the Sturgeons have been outscored 114-14 by their opponents.

Tied with four other teams, the Sturgeons have Β four points with only three weeks remaining in the regular season. Only the top eight teams will advance to the playoffs.

The Sturgeons will face stiff challenges in their final games against Chatham Kent Cougars, Forest City Thunderbirds and Niagara Storm. All these teams are above the Storm in the standings. Β The Storm are currently tied with the Cougars and Thunderbirds.

On Sunday, the Sturgeons will travel on the road to face the Chatham-Kent Cougars. The Cougars are unbeaten in their last two games and have a 2-2 record. Both teams need a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. Β Kickoff is 7:00pm.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
