CFC10 Non-public RANKINGS (7): SAC, St. Mike’s wins set up big mid-week clash

Clarkson Football North traveled to Cleveland to face last year’s state runner ups, St. Ignatius.  Unfortunately, the defensive backs did not get off the bus until the 2nd quarter as early blown coverages saw Clarkson go down 14-0 early in the opening quarter.  The bright spot for Clarkson was strong play of the front seven who limited the running game of St. Ignatius and had 5 QB sacks.

Canada Prep continues to play the best defense of any squad on the CFC10 losing another one point game.  The CPA Raiders were down by 1 at the half, 7-6 and keeping up with Mater Dei. Taking the lead in the second half with a 60-yard touchdown, the Raiders would bring the score to 13-7. However, Mater Dei answered back with a score of their onw with seven minutes left in the ball game. The Raiders were not able to score again, losing to Mater Dei 13-14.

St. Joseph visited St Thomas More on Saturday.  Hoping to end their five-game losing streak the visitors did not start well, going down 14-0 after the first two drives.  They did close the gap going into the locker room at half down 20-14 after a CFC100 Arthur Hamlin TD pass to Deng Malou.  The star of the game for St. Joe’s was Kevin Victome who returned a 2nd half Kick-off return for a TD and accounted for 2 INTs in the secondary.

St. Andrew’s College gave their fans a show for Homecoming with their 21-12 win over Upper Canada College on the weekend. Running back Adre Simmonds had over 100 yards, while Ian MacLean socre 2 touchdowns. Grant Campbell also added a touchdown reception to his name. SAC also won the battle in the trenches. Defensively, CFC100 Liam Gracey had 5 combined tackles, and 1 sack and Luke St. John had a pivotal interception in the 2nd quarter that led to the Saints first touchdown. The whole defense played lights out for four quarters. This was a full team win and to the delight of the SAC faithful.

Another homecoming win this weekend to the St. Michael Kerry Blues. Beating the Trinity Bears 56-32, this the Kerry Blues will get to recoup for the next two weeks as they get a bye for thanksgiving.
