- Well obviously we did not see this result coming in Saskatchewan. The province has provided so many twists and turns on the CFC25 and CFC50 rankings this year, but none bigger than Carlton stepping up to the plate and proving us wrong with their 39-13 demolition of F.W. Johnson in the 5A Provincial semifinals. We always keep our eye on the North Saskatchewan League, but obviously we let historical results cloud our judgement about the abilities of this group of Crusaders, who now have the chance to be the first team to bring a provincial banner back to Prince Albert. That will be a lot easier said than done with Bishop J. Mahoney standing in their way, who had no problems advancing with a 31-3 victory over Central in the other semifinal. Unlike Carlton, this is very familiar territory for the Saints, who have made seven appearances and won five provincial championships since 2011 with their latest triumph coming in 2022. We can’t wait to find out how the script writers cap off this epic season in Saskatchewan.

- We’ve got a highly anticipated rematch in Manitoba with John Taylor and Tec Voc squaring off one more time with the AAA Currie Bowl on the line at Princess Auto Stadium. John Taylor punched their ticket with a hard-fought 25-12 win over Dryden, while Tec Voc sent the reigning champions Fort Frances home empty handed with a 23-7 victory. In the first matchup, the Pipers got the better of the Hornets in a high scoring 38-23 affair, but we are expecting a much closer contest with the tensions at an all-time high as Tec Voc look to secure their first title since 2006, and John Taylor hope to write a new chapter with their first title in the program’s history.
- The semifinals are set in Quebec, and they promise to provide all the drama we are addicted to. Deux-Montagnes advanced after dispatching Estacades 28-15, and will now grapple with a rematch against the reigning champions Saint-Joseph, who corrected their errors from the regular season by flipping the script on Roger-Comtois to come away with an impressive 30-13 victory. The first time these two met Deux-Montagnes had zero issues winning 25-0, but Saint-Joseph will be feeling confident that they can reverse the script again after losing to Roger-Comtois 30-6 earlier in the year as well. On the other side of the bracket, Dalbe-Viau grinded out a gutsy 16-1 win against Triolet, and will now lineup against College de Levis, who managed to hold off a talented College Laval squad for the 17-12 victory to advance. These two already met in the season opener with Dalbe-Viau walking away with a convincing 29-14 win, but we all know a lot can change from September to November, and ancient history should hold very little bearing with a spot in the Bol d’Or hanging in the balance.

CFC100 CLASS 2026 RANKINGS
- The Left Coast has finally caught up to the rest of the pack, and it’s finally time for some playoff football in British Columbia. Robert Bateman enter the bracket as the third seed, but should be brimming with all sorts of confidence after dismantling Holy Cross 34-2 to cap off another perfect regular season campaign. Similarly, Windsor should be feeling good about their chances as the second seed after breezing past Mt. Douglas 29-0 to wrap up their perfect run through the regular season. Vernon find themselves in a unique situation with a double bye week after earning the top seed in the bracket, and it’s yet to be seen if the extended time off will be beneficial or detrimental to their hunt for back-to-back AA championships. The wildcard round kicks off this week with Argyle playing South Kamloops for the right to faceoff against Vernon, and Mt. Douglas taking on Westsyde with the winner earning a quarterfinals matchup against Windsor. Meanwhile, Robert Bateman get a week off to prepare for their quarterfinals tussle with John Barsby, who despite being the sixth seed, could present a stout challenge after falling just one point shy in the AA finals against Vernon last year.
